Preparation and Safety
Cooking instructions: Oven
To oven cook from chilled, but can also be shallow fried, or poached. If freezing at home defrost thoroughly before cooking Before cooking: Preheat oven to 190°C. Fan 170°C. Gas 5. Remove all packaging. Wrap in lightly oiled foil to form a parcel. Place on a baking tray on the middle shelf of the oven. During cooking: Cook for 24 minutes After cooking: Check food is piping hot. As the natural thickness and size of the fish and the performance of cooking appliances varies this is a guide only.
Cooking instructions: Poach
To poach from chilled. If freezing at home, defrost thoroughly before cooking. Low heat. 5-6 minutes. Before cooking: Remove all packaging. Place fish into a suitably sized pan. Cover with milk or water, bring to the boil, then reduce to a simmer. During cooking: Cook for 5-6 minutes. After cooking: Check food is piping hot. To Shallow fry from chilled. If freezing at home, defrost thoroughly before cooking. Medium heat. 14 minutes Before cooking: Remove all packaging. Preheat 1 dessert spoon (10ml) of oil in a frying pan. Coat the fish with flour. Place coated fish in the pan. During cooking: Cook for 14 minutes on a medium heat, turning occasionally during cooking. After cooking: Check food is piping hot.
