Here, the Humboldt current has one of the most influential cooling effects on the region ensuring vines are kept fresh, helping to balance sugars and acidity in the grapes, whilst the double cane pruning system allows flexible canopy management to control sunlight exposure for optimum ripeness.The winery is 100% organic and prioritises soil health and regenerative viticultural practices to increase the organic matter in soils. In the winter, sheep are released into the vineyards to naturally manage weed-growth and home-made compost is applied to add nutrients back into the soil.Winemaker Luca Hodgkinson implements plot-specific harvesting time depending on grape ripeness levels.
