This policy explains how McGrocer Ltd approaches intellectual property rights, brand owner engagement, and product authenticity in connection with the services we provide.
McGrocer operates as an independent shopping and export service that sources genuine products from established UK retailers on behalf of customers. We respect the rights of brand owners and aim to operate responsibly within applicable legal frameworks.
This policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in our operations, legal requirements, or industry practices.
McGrocer provides a technology-enabled shopping and international fulfilment service. When a customer places an order:
products are sourced on demand from authorised third-party UK retailers;
orders are consolidated and prepared for export at our fulfilment facility; and
goods are dispatched to the customer via our international courier network.
McGrocer purchases products only after a confirmed customer order has been received. We do not hold commercial stock in anticipation of demand and do not manufacture branded goods.
Except where explicitly stated, McGrocer is not affiliated with, authorised by, or endorsed by brand owners whose products may be requested by customers. All trade marks remain the property of their respective owners.
McGrocer is committed to sourcing genuine products through legitimate retail channels.
Products supplied through our service are purchased from established UK retailers, supermarkets, pharmacies, and authorised distributors, and are provided in original retail packaging wherever possible.
We do not knowingly source counterfeit goods and do not use unverified intermediaries or channels whose authorisation status cannot be reasonably confirmed at the point of purchase. Purchase records are maintained for all orders.
Where authenticity concerns arise regarding any product, McGrocer will investigate promptly and take appropriate action, which may include suspension of sourcing, customer refund, or cooperation with relevant authorities.
Product descriptions and images on the McGrocer platform are provided for product identification and reference purposes only. Content may include original material created by McGrocer, independently authored descriptions, and publicly available product information.
All product descriptions are subject to McGrocer's ongoing content programme, through which descriptions are authored or further developed in McGrocer's own words.
Where McGrocer uses its own illustrative imagery for a product, that image may be configured to direct customers to the product's authorised UK retail source.
Actual product packaging, appearance, and specifications may vary from images shown.
Product images and descriptions do not constitute a representation as to brand affiliation, authorisation, or endorsement.
Where a rights holder raises concerns regarding specific content, McGrocer will review the matter and take appropriate steps (see Section 8).
McGrocer is an independent shopping service. Unless explicitly stated otherwise:
McGrocer is not an authorised retailer of any brand owner's products;
McGrocer does not represent that any brand endorses, sponsors, or authorises our service;
McGrocer does not operate selective distribution networks; and
all trade marks, brand names, and product identifiers remain the property of their respective owners.
The use of a brand name or product identifier on the McGrocer platform is solely for the purpose of identifying the product and does not imply any commercial relationship with the brand owner.
McGrocer supplies products to customers in multiple jurisdictions. Products sourced are genuine goods lawfully purchased within the UK market.
Import regulations vary by country. Customers are responsible for ensuring that products they request are permitted for import into their destination country and for complying with all applicable local laws, duties, and customs requirements.
McGrocer does not represent that the export of any product is authorised by the relevant brand owner under the laws of the destination country.
McGrocer may restrict sourcing of certain products to particular destinations where necessary for legal or operational reasons and maintains an internal list of restricted categories and markets.
McGrocer fulfils orders based on customer selections. Goods are purchased specifically in response to the requesting customer's confirmed order.
McGrocer does not hold commercial stock of branded goods except where temporarily necessary for operational reasons such as returns or cancellations.
McGrocer provides sourcing, consolidation, and international fulfilment services. It does not operate as a manufacturer, brand distributor, or authorised reseller.
McGrocer aims to engage with intellectual property concerns cooperatively and in good faith.
Where a brand owner or authorised representative raises concerns regarding specific content or products, McGrocer may — depending on the circumstances and applicable legal considerations — take actions including:
reviewing the concern and requesting further information where necessary;
modifying or replacing product images or descriptions with content authored by McGrocer;
adding or updating source references directing customers to authorised retail listings;
restricting availability of specific products to certain destinations;
temporarily suspending a listing while assessment is carried out;
removing a listing where necessary; or
preventing relisting of a specific product on a case-by-case basis.
McGrocer does not automatically remove or modify listings solely on the basis of unverified allegations. Any action taken is without admission of liability.
McGrocer cooperates with duly constituted legal process as required by law.
Brand owners or authorised representatives who believe their rights are affected may contact McGrocer using the details below. Please include:
identification of the rights holder and rights relied upon;
proof of authority to act (if applicable);
specific product references or listing URLs;
a detailed description of the concern; and
supporting evidence, including proof of title where applicable.
McGrocer reserves the right to request additional documentation before acting on a complaint and will not act on anonymous or unsupported allegations.

McGrocer cooperates with competent authorities where required by law, including Trading Standards, HMRC, and Border Force.
