Storage: Keep refrigerated at -2°C to +4°C. Do not exceed the use by date. Store uncooked meat covered and lower in fridge than cooked meat. Suitable for freezing. Freeze before date mark shown. Defrost thoroughly before cooking. Use on day of defrost. Once defrosted, do not refreeze.
Safety Warning: To avoid danger of suffocation, please keep this bag away from babies and small children. Contains bones. Do not wash poultry before cooking. To avoid cross contamination always ensure utensils and surfaces are thoroughly cleaned before and after use. Dispose of packaging carefully. Wash hands thoroughly after handling raw poultry and packaging. Upon opening a faint smell is released from the pack. This is normal and will disappear when the meat is exposed to air.
Cooking Instructions: Oven cook at 200°C, 400°F, Fan 180°C, Gas 6. Do not remove any packaging. Do not open or pierce the bag before cooking. Place the bagged chicken in a deep roasting tray and cook in centre of oven for calculated time on front of pack (40 minutes per 1kg plus additional 20 minutes). Avoid the bag coming in contact with open flame or heating element. If you want the skin to be more crisp, remove the chicken from oven at end of cooking time and open the bag by cutting around the dotted line with a knife or scissors. Return the chicken to oven for final 10 minutes. Caution: Take care when opening the bag as steam may escape.
To ensure the chicken is fully cooked, insert a skewer into thickest part of meat. If juices run clear, not pink, it is fully cooked. Check product is piping hot before serving. Do not reheat. For tenderness and succulence, allow the chicken to rest at room temperature inside the bag for 20-30 minutes before carving.
