Lawsonia Inermis (Henna) Leaf Powder.
Henna powder (quantity depends on hair length; 50-100g for short hair, 150-200g for medium, 300g+ for long hair)
Water or herbal tea (e.g., black tea for dark tones or chamomile tea for lighter tones)
Optional: Lemon juice (1-2 teaspoons), Clove & Eucalyptus oil for better dye release, yogurt or aloe vera for extra moisture
Mixing the Paste: Place the henna powder in a non-metallic bowl. Gradually add lukewarm water or tea while stirring to form a smooth, yogurt-like consistency. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it sit for 6-8 hours or overnight for dye release.
Wash your hair with Ayumi shampoo to remove dirt and oil. Avoid using conditioner. Towel-dry your hair until slightly damp. Divide your hair into sections for easier application. Wearing gloves, apply the henna paste starting from the roots and working to the ends, ensuring even coverage. Twist each section and secure it on top of your head if needed.
Cover Your Hair: Wrap your hair with plastic wrap or wear a shower cap to keep the henna moist and prevent drips. Leave the paste on for 2-4 hours (longer for deeper colour).
Rinse Off: Rinse your hair thoroughly with lukewarm water until all the henna is removed. Avoid using shampoo for at least 24-48 hours to allow the color to fully develop.
Henna imparts a reddish-orange tint. You can mix it with indigo powder for darker shades (brown/black). Add beetroot juice for a deeper red or coffee for a warm brown tone.
Leave the henna paste on for 1-2 hours and rinse off to enjoy its conditioning benefits without intense colour.
