Grape variety: Mourvèdre
Current vintage: 2020
The wine is made from organically grown grapes in the rugged valleys of DO Jumilla in southern Spain, where the warm, dry climate is ideal for organic viticulture and particularly well-suited to the native Monastrell variety. Low-yielding old bush-vines with roots deep in the baked limestone soil, create an intense wine, with smooth tannins and the ripe dark berry notes typical of the Monastrell grape.
Tasting notes: Low-yielding old bush-vines create a deep purple red wine with aromas of black fruits. The palate show ripe blackcurrant, cherry and raspberry notes which are balanced by soft well-integrated tannins.
Alcohol by volume: 13.5
Units: 10.1
Serving suggestions: This is a rich, intense wine which matches well with most meat and vegetable dishes
Vinification details: The organic grapes are hand picked and transported to the winery as soon as possible, before being crushed. Fermentation occurs at moderate temperatures between 24-25°C for 15 days. Malolactic fermentation takes place in stainless steel, where the wine will spend a short time in contact with the light lees, with minimal oxygen contact and racking. The wine is then lightly fined and filtered before bottling.
