The logo is near the base, and the pepper mill has an embossed 'P', the salt mill an embossed 'S' on the metal knob - taking inspiration from cast iron casserole knobs.
Salt and Pepper mills should not be submerged in water or put in the dishwasher. Gently wipe the external surface with a damp, clean cloth if dirt appears. Do not overtighten the knob. This can cause damage to the internal mechanism. Rock salt is recommended for use with salt mills.
