







Gaviscon Original Aniseed is a liquid antacid that relieves symptoms of heartburn and acid reflux. It contains sodium alginate to form a protective barrier in the stomach. Shake well and take 10-20ml after meals for effective relief.
Each 10ml of oral suspension contains 500mg sodium alginate, 267mg sodium bicarbonate and 160mg calcium carbonate as the active ingredients. This product is sugar free and gluten free. You can take this product if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Gaviscon Original Aniseed Relief belongs to a group of medicines called 'reflux suppressants' which form a protective layer on top of the stomach contents to prevent stomach acid escaping from the stomach where it works into the food pipe causing pain and discomfort. Gaviscon Original Aniseed Relief is used for the treatment of symptoms of gastro-oesophageal reflux such as acid regurgitation, heartburn and indigestion, which may occur, for example, following meals or during pregnancy.

The other ingredients are carbomer, methyl (E218) and propyl (E216) parahydroxybenzoates, benzyl alcohol, sodium saccharin, fennel flavour, erythrosine, sodium hydroxide and water. This product does not contain sugar or gluten.
Storage: Do not store above 30. Do not refrigerate or freeze.
Dosage: For oral use. Shake well before use. Adults and children 12 years and over: Take 10-20ml (two to four 5ml spoonfuls) after meals and at bedtime. Children under 12 years: Should only be taken on medical advice.
Safety Warning: Each 10ml contains 6.2mmol of sodium. Also contains benzyl alcohol (present in fennel flavour), methyl (E218) and propyl (E216) parahydroxybenzoates. KEEP OUT OF THE REACH AND SIGHT OF CHILDREN.
Before using: Do not take if allergic to any ingredients. Take special care if on a low sodium diet. Contains parahydroxybenzoates and benzyl alcohol which may cause allergic reactions.
Taking Other Medicines: Do not take within two hours of other oral medicines as it can interfere with their action.
Possible side effects: Very rarely, allergic reactions may occur. Stop taking and consult a doctor if symptoms appear.
