











Helen Browning Organic Unsmoked Streaky Bacon is a nitrate-free British product made from free-range pigs. It has won a Great Taste Award for its excellent flavour. Ideal for grilling or frying to create crispy bacon sandwiches.
All our unsmoked bacon & lardons are now made without using nitrites or nitrates. We've worked hard over the past few years to find a way of curing our bacon to keep it food safe whilst also avoiding using nitrates or nitrite salts, traditionally used to make bacon. This is the result. Great tasting bacon cured with salt and flavoured with organic fruits and vegetable extracts; lemons and the fruit of the Mediterranean carob tree. Sliced thinly to allow it to crisp up perfectly.

Our bacon is made from free range, outdoor bred pigs raised to the highest welfare standards - going above and beyond the usual organic standards. We do not routinely use any antibiotics and NEVER use critically endangered ones. The pigs are fed on a GM free diet and their food is supplemented with fresh waste fruit and vegetables from Abel and Cole adding colour and variety to their day. All our pigs are free to roam and root as pigs love to do. They live in warm pig arks with plenty of straw bedding and we even dig wallows for them to cool off in when the weather gets hot.

Storage: Keep refrigerated below 5°C. Once opened use within 3 days and by the date shown on front of pack. Suitable for home freezing. Freeze on day of purchase and use within 3 months. Fully defrost before using and use on same day.
Preparation and Usage: Grill or fry turning for 4 to 6 minutes, turning occasionally. Ensure bacon is piping hot before serving. For the perfect bacon sandwich, serve between bread, lashings of butter and tomato ketchup. Our top tip: For the best, crispy bacon, remove your bacon from the fridge 30 minutes before you want to make your sandwich to bring the bacon up to room temperature.

Other Information: Packed in a protective atmosphere. Our bacon is certified by the Soil Association meaning our produce is produced to the highest of organic standards. Our pigs are free range and outdoor bred in plenty of space with the opportunity to express their natural behaviours. We recommend eat less but better organic meat and these cured products are a wonderful treat.
