Read More14 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a superb combination of rich sweetness, smoky dryness and appetising spice. A Highland single malt whisky from one of Scotland's oldest and smallest licensed distilleries at the meeting place of land and sea.
The distillery was founded in 1794 and the West Highland port town has grown around it. The whisky owes its rich and rewarding Highland character to its very long fermentation process. The tiny lamp glass-shaped copper pot stills are among the smallest in Scotland, and the whisky is slowly condensed in wooden worm tubs outside among the rooftops.
Exposed to the salted sea air, this process brings a distinct depth of flavour, which is said to go very well with salted caramel. Smoky on the palate, with a taste of orange peel, an intense sweetness, honey and hints of sea salt and heather, make up the unusual character of this unique spirit.
It is made of 100% malted barley and produced in one single distillery. Tasting notes include rich sweetness and smoky dryness with fruity notes of oranges, pears and dried figs. Experts recommend drinking it neat or with a little still spring water, and it is a delightful accompaniment to seafood like oysters or smoked salmon.
This whisky won a Gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2016. Smooth and soft with heather, honey and delicate spice, creamy not dry. The distillery is a carbon neutral distillery following the installation of bio fuel boilers.
