This wine honours the vision of pioneer Clare Valley winemaker Jim Barry. In 1964, Jim and his wife Nancy purchased 70 acres and planted their first vineyard with shiraz.

These mature vines provide outstanding fruit, establishing the McRae Wood as an exceptional Clare Shiraz with numerous trophies and gold medals.

The 2008 McRae Wood Shiraz offers highly perfumed and floral aromas of cedar, jasmine and caraway seed. The palate has flavours of blackberry, cranberry, damson plums and red currants. Fine grained tannins are astutely balanced with natural acidity and a creamy finish.

Treat and store well, decant shortly before drinking. Contains sulphites. Alcohol by volume: 14.0%.
