It might sound counterintuitive but silk, as well as being supremely soft, is also extremely strong. Because individual silk threads have inherent strength and bind easily together, it makes silk fabric very durable. What that means in a practical sense is that, with care, these pillowcases will last you just as long as those made from cotton or linen.
Our pillowcases are made from the highest quality 19-momme Mulberry silk. 'Momme' refers to the weight in lbs of a piece of silk 45 inches x 100 yards in size.

We recommend washing this silk product on a delicate cycle, using a specialist silk detergent and washing inside out in a laundry bag. We also recommend not to use fabric softener, to keep away from direct sunlight and to lightly press on the reverse with a cool iron.
