How to make traditional roti: 1 Mix 500g medium atta and a pinch of salt (optional) together in a bowl. Add 3 tbsp. Vegetable oil and stir. 2 Slowly add 470ml warm water to the flour mixing continuously until a semi-soft dough forms. Cover with a moist cloth and rest for 10mins. 3 Roll into small balls (egg size), flatten and roll out on a floured surface with a rolling pin to 4-5mm in thickness and 15mm diameter. 4 Cook on preheated skillet, tava or griddle until golden brown on both sides. Serve with a knob of butter.
