Brand details: Martín Códax was a famous Galician troubadour from the 13th century, who inspired the name of our most iconic wine. His cantigas, poems which were written and sung in Galician-Portuguese, recalled love and passion for the sea, and are the oldest ones to this day, to have both musical notes and lyrics in that language. His mark is present in the bottle design, having details such as the musical score of one of this cantigas on the cork, or the lyrics transcription on the label.
Grape variety: Albariño. Current vintage: 2023. Regional information: In the appellation of Rías Baixas, most of vineyards are situated in close proximity to the sea. The soils are low-lying and are very deep, reaching at most 300 meters above sea level. This situation makes sandy and mineral lands, especially granitics and acids, which gives the wine a little hint of saltiness. Rías Baixas' climate has an Atlantic influence with cool temperatures and quite a lot of precipitations which decreases in summer time.
Tasting notes: Appearance: Clean, bright, with a yellow-straw colour and green highlights. Nose: Medium-high intensity. Citrus aromas of lime and white pip fruits such as green apple stand out. Fresh and mineral. Palate: Good entrance on the palate, dense and well-balanced. Long and fruity aftertaste.
