Ocado 1 Beef Fillet Steak. If you find your steak has become brown where the meat is touching the packaging or in-between steaks, this is because meat needs air to stay red in colour. It is the lack of air between the steak and the packaging that has caused this discolouration. This is called contact discolouration and will not affect the safety or flavour of the product.
These beef fillet steaks are expertly butchered and naturally matured for a minimum of 10 days to enhance their full flavour potential. Fillet steaks are renowned for being the most tender, alongside being one of the leanest cuts of beef, resulting in an exceptionally soft and tender texture.
While not as intensely flavourful as some other cuts like ribeye or sirloin, fillet steak has a delicate, subtle flavour and its mild taste makes it an excellent choice for those who prefer a less robust, beefy flavour. Pair with classic sauces such as peppercorn, mushroom, blue cheese or red wine and serve with potatoes, vegetables or thick cut fries.

Cooking guidelines: Remove all packaging. Wash hands, all surfaces and utensils after touching raw meat. Keep raw meat separate from cooked foods. Pan Fry: High heat Rare: 5-8 mins Medium: 7-10 mins. Allow the steak to sit at room temperature for 10 minutes before cooking. Preheat pan on high. Lightly oil and season steak. Place into dry pan. Turn halfway through cooking. Allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving. All appliances vary. These are guidelines only. Ensure the product is piping hot before serving. Do not reheat. Not suitable for microwave cooking.
