Grilling or frying slices of this Cypriot halloumi creates a delicious meal sold by a trusted UK retailer for your table.
Cypriot Halloumi. Medium fat semi-hard cheese made in Cyprus with pasteurised Cypriot cow, sheep and goat's milk.
Halloumi is a white, semi-hard cheese with a slightly rubbery, squeaky texture when cold. It has a deliciously salty, tangy flavour and when cooked retains its shape, resulting in a thin, golden crust on the outside and a warm, soft inside. It can be enjoyed either straight from the fridge or cooked, and is versatile enough to add to salads, as a topping for burgers and sandwiches, or grilled as a side dish on it's own. It also works well as a vegetarian alternative to bacon by frying until crispy and adding to your breakfast or brunch.
