This wine is produced from the best autochthonous grapes in the area of Salice Salentino in Puglia. A long period of aging in Barrique gives a full body with a bouquest of berries and blackcurrant. Intense ruby red color, powerful but elegant and balanced on the palate, rich in red berries and soft tannins.

In its fifth generation, Paolo Leo is based in the Salento wine village of San Donaci. The story of this beautiful estate began at the turn of the twentieth century when Antonio Leo started vinifying the grapes grown in the vineyards of Masseria Monticello.They produce a range of wines that celebrate their region, specialising in native grape varieties and using winemaking techniques that seamlessly combine tradition and innovation.

Salento, located in the southern tip of Puglia, is renowned for its exceptional winemaking. The region benefits from a warm Mediterranean climate, with plenty of sunshine and mild sea breezes, which are ideal for growing robust red grapes such as Negroamaro.

The grapes are harvested at dawn to preserve freshness. They are then destemmed and softly pressed. Fermentation occurs at a controlled temperature of 26°C. The wine ages for 12 months in French oak barrels, followed by 4 months in large oak barrels, 4 months in stainless steel tanks, and 4 months in bottle.
