Regional information: Ridgeview is working closely with Marco Simonit to preserve older vines and ensure the longevity of younger vines, by advocating correct, gentle pruning and maintenance. The vines are managed sustainably, including annual tissue analysis, three-yearly soil analysis including soil organic matter content, annual worm count and management of the estate woodland. All grapes are hand-harvested.

Producer: Established in 1995 by the Roberts family, Ridgeview has been producing world-class sparkling wine in Sussex for over 25 years. Focusing solely on classic-method sparkling wines, they have won numerous awards, including 'International Winemaker of the Year' in 2018, and their wines have been served at Royal occasions. Winemaker: The 'Bloomsbury' is made from a blend of up to 40 different base wines sourced from the original Ridgeview vineyards and partner vineyards across Southern England. The grapes are grown on south-facing slopes on a combination of chalk, clay, and sandstone soils. This Chardonnay-dominant blend reflects the cool climate and chalky soils that define the estate's vineyards.

Vinification details: 'Bloomsbury' is a blend of carefully selected recent vintages and reserve wines, of which a selection underwent malolactic conversion. From harvest to bottling, the wine spent six months in stainless steel on the gross lees. Secondary fermentation took place in underground cellars.
