Carolina, the cofounder of Santa Carolina winery along with her husband Luis Pereira, is the inspiration of this wine. This Cachapoal Estate Carmenère boasts a superbly balanced nose of red fruit like ripe cherries and white pepper.
Grape variety: Carmenère. Current vintage: 2018. The grapes were grown in the La Rinconada vineyards in the Rapel Valley, close to the Cachapoal River.
Alcohol by volume: 13.5%. Serving suggestions: Food Pairing: Indian curry, Turkish kebab or spicy chicken wings.
Vinification details: Hand picked grapes, cold maceration, traditional fermentation with controlled temperature 28°C in cement tanks. 8 months ageing in French and American oak prior to bottling.
