This unique St Hallett creation blends the age-old bedfellows of Shiraz and Grenache with the lesser-known Touriga Nacional. The Shiraz and Grenache supply the lush red and purple fruit characters, while the Touriga brings a rose petal element to the aroma and a touch of spice to the palate. It is a versatile, food-friendly wine.
Gamekeeper's Shiraz (53%), Grenache (38%) & Touriga (9%) parcels are sourced from mostly southern Barossa Valley, with red-brown loam over shale soils, perfect for highlighting fresh varietal characters. All varietal parcels are crushed and fermented separately, between 6 and 8 days at 22 to 24 degrees. Post fermentation the wine was matured in stainless steel tanks, with a portion of the Shiraz kept on yeast lees to add complexity and texture, prior to being blended and bottled.
