La Villette is a district of Paris where the main markets supplying the city with food and wine were located in the mid 19th century. Produce was delivered by horse and cart or barges on the Canal St-Martin as depicted on the bottle labels. Parisians gathered in the local bistros famed for their good food and wines. Today Le Parc de la Villette which stands on the site of the markets is home to many interesting bars, cafés and cultural venues. Maison de la Villette pays tribute to this old district in Paris with this range of premium classic French varietal wines.
