It's not aesthetically perfect, exteriors can sometimes be blemished and shaped a bit wonky, but this does not compromise flavour.
Our Organic Fennels present with a robust edible bulb and feathery leaves with a dill like appearance and flavour. We select them carefully for the crisp texture and full-bodied sweetness that they are known for. Organic growing yields a variety of sizes. Our packs usually contain a single fennel; maybe more if they're smaller, but they will always have a minimum weight per pack of 350g.
Our packaging reflects our commitment to the planet. Our netting is plastic free & home compostable - made with Beechwood recovered from the thinning of European FSC or PEFC certified forestry.

Preparation and Usage: We love that fennel is a completely zero waste vegetable. Be it its leaves, flowers or stalks; every part of the plant is edible and used for various culinary purposes. The bulb is usually the most sought-after part of the vegetable as it holds most of that liquorice root flavour and can be enjoyed both cooked and raw. One can easily roast the bulb, or chop into thicker segments and bake into gratins for a more herbaceous taste than onion. We enjoy it best fresh, just shaved paper thin on a mandolin, thrown in with some peeled orange segments and a handful of salad leaves. Complimented greatly with a homemade honey mustard, vinegar and EVOO dressing to beautifully coat the fennel slices - celebrating its aromatic aniseed flavour to the fullest.
